Orthopedics Center in Carthage, New York
In 2009, Carthage Area Hospital established its Orthopedic Clinic, which specializes in shoulder and upper-extremity care. Since then, the clinic has become a trusted provider of orthopedics services for residents of Jefferson, northern Lewis, and southern St. Lawrence counties.
Our Orthopedics Services
The Carthage Area Hospital orthopedic team offers a host of state-of-the-art orthopedics services. What’s more, each service is personalized to meet the diverse medical needs of patients across northern New York. These include:
- Shoulder, elbow, and upper extremity surgeries: Injuries and illnesses in these extremities are quite common, and they can cause pain, numbness, a loss of motion, and impaired functioning. To treat issues with your elbow, shoulders, etc, our team offers a variety of cutting-edge surgical procedures.
- Carpal tunnel procedures: Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when pressure is placed on the median nerve in the wrist. Wrist splinting, medications, and corticosteroids can alleviate its symptoms. However, in more severe cases, patients may require endoscopic surgery or open surgery to alleviate this pressure.
- Trigger finger treatments: Trigger finger occurs when a patient’s finger becomes stuck in a bent position. Although rest, medication, and therapy can often heal this condition, methods like steroid injections, percutaneous release procedures, and other surgeries are available for patients who need them.
- Boxer’s fracture care: A boxer’s fracture occurs when one or more of the bones in the knuckle become broken. When home care and immobilization both prove ineffective, surgery can be used to fix the knuckle.
