New School-Based Clinic Providers Begin at Carthage & LaFargeville - Carthage Area Hospital

Jessica Robinson, FNP-BC and Jennifer Avery, PA-C fill positions at

LaFargeville & Carthage Middle School

Carthage Area Hospital is pleased to welcome Jessica Robinson, FNP-BC and Jennifer Avery, PA-C to its medical staff. Robinson started at the Carthage Middle School-Based Clinic on Tuesday, February 23rd and Avery began at LaFargeville School-Based Clinic on Monday, March 8th. Both providers will provide primary and preventive health care services to school-aged youth enrolled in the School-Based Health Clinic Program.

Robinson graduated from Jefferson Community College, Watertown, NY in 2010 with an Associates in Math & Science. Following her Associates, she attended D’Youville College, Buffalo, NY and graduated with a B.S in Nursing with a Biology minor. She continued at D’Youville College and graduated with her Masters in Science in Nursing where she became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015. Her FNP career began at Alice Hyde Medical, Malone, NY working at their Urgent Care Clinic. After two years at Alice Hyde, Robinson briefly worked at Samaritan Medical Center’s Leray Urgent Care, Evans Mills, NY before she transitioned to Planned Parenthood of the North Country, Watertown, NY. Robinson enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband, children, & dogs.

In 2000, Avery graduated from Brandeis University, Waltham, MA with a B.S. in Biology and later completed the Physician Assistant Program with a Masters of Health Sciences at Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA in 2008. She began her career as a Physician Assistant at CSRA Pain Management in North Augusta, SC in 2010 and was later employed at Connelly Health Clinic, Fort Gordon, GA. Her career took her overseas to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, a U.S. military hospital in Germany from 2013-2015 before coming back to the States. After a stint at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ, Avery went back to Germany where she worked for Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and Wiesbaden Health Clinic from 2015-2020. Avery enjoys running, languages, walking her dogs, and traveling with her children.

A School-Based Health Clinic (SBHC) is a unique health care model in which comprehensive physical, mental and preventive health services are provided to school-aged youths in the school setting. The clinic provides quality primary and preventive health care services to students enrolled in the program. It improves access to care for students, increased access to specialist referrals and other related services. All insurances accepted. There are NO CO-PAYS. The clinic accepts the amount paid by the insurance. There is no out-of-pocket expense for services performed in the clinic. Any services performed outside of the SBHC, such as labs or X-rays are subject to payment

Hours of Operations:

·        Carthage Middle School-Based Clinic | Monday-Friday 7a.m. to 3p.m.

·        LaFargeville School-Based Clinic | 7:30a.m to 3:30a.m
