Pop-Up Diabetes Education Event Taught by Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist
Carthage Area Hospital is hosting a virtual, Halloween-themed Diabetes Education event on Saturday, October 30th from 10:00am-2:00pm via Google Meet. A primary care referral is required. Topics include: Basic pathophysiology of Type I and Type II diabetes, blood glucose monitor use and target blood glucose levels, meal planning with a focus on carbohydrate counting, and more.
“Halloween is a time for fun, games, and costumes galore! But for some, it is also a time when blood sugars run high and people experience more challenges in managing their diabetes. Join us for a fun, interactive presentation all about diabetes and how you can enjoy some of the sweets and treats of the season without the stress,” said Carly Draper, RD, CDN, CDCES.
Additionally, another pop-up, virtual class is scheduled for Saturday, November 20th from 10:00am-2:00pm via Google Meet. A primary care referral is required for this as well.
To RSVP, please call 315-519-5468 or sign up online at www.carthagehospital.com/diabetesclass. A Google Meet link will be sent to you prior to the event. For requirements on how to use Google Meet, please visit https://support.google.com/meet/answer/7317473?ref_topic=7306097
