Carthage Area Hospital to Host Diabetes Education Classes This Fall - Carthage Area Hospital

Diabetes Education Event Led by Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist

Individuals ages 18 and over interested in learning more about their diabetes care and management are invited to participate in an expert-led diabetes education class at Carthage Area Hospital this fall. There will be two opportunities to participate. The first class will be held on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 from 9:00AM-12:00PM and the additional class is scheduled on Thursday, November 17th, 2022 from 9:00AM-12:00PM. A primary care referral is required.

Participants will learn pathophysiology of diabetes, blood glucose monitor use and target blood glucose levels, meal planning with a focus on carbohydrate counting, and more.

“As we approach the Holiday Season, it can be tempting to reach for those savory treats and meals, which poses many challenges in managing diabetes. We encourage you to join us for a fun, interactive presentation all about diabetes and how you can enjoy those treats mindfully without the stress,” said Carly Draper, RD, CDN, CDCES, and Director of Nutrition Services at Carthage Area Hospital.

For more information or to RSVP, please call 315-519-5468 or sign up online at www.carthagehospital.com/diabetesclass. Masks are required to be worn.
