Judy is a Patient Accounting Clerk and has been with Carthage Area Hospital for 40 years. She said she’s “honored,” to have received this award.
Her nomination stated, “During these trying times with almost all of our billing staff working from home, Judy has been a staple continuing to work at our office. She has been a “go to” person whenever any of our at home staff has needed anything. She has done endless printing, faxing, mailing, scanning or anything that is or was requested to expedite processes needed for the billing office. She has done all of this with a kind and courteous heart, never once questioning why, just getting the job done. She has helped all of us do our jobs from home, while she does her job and assists us with ours basically doing two jobs. She really has stepped up in a time of need and put the hospital and the staff first. Along with being a long time employee of the Hospital she is obviously shows her dedication by her many years of service as well!”
When she’s not working, Judy enjoys spending time with her family.

Holly Rubacha is a receptionist at the Carthage Orthopedic Clinic. She’s been with the hospital for almost 3 years.
Holly was described as “one of the most dependable and caring people. She is always on time and generally a big smile to start the day. She is very thoughtful and always putting others needs in front of her own. From the attachments for each referral to track what records we need to make my job as nurse easier, to her checklist she prepared to schedule patients more efficiently, her ideas are wonderful and very helpful to all the staff in our office to help us best service our patients. Patients often talk about how quickly the turn-around time is from their first visit to get their reports completed and a plan of care in place and this is due to Holly’s ability to multitask efficiently and gives the patient a good first impression of our office from the moment they come into our office. She is also part of the “DREAM TEAM” and regularly donates items for our raffle baskets which proceeds go into our collection of the annual Heart walk team. Holly’s hard work, dedication, and attention to detail do not go unnoticed by me and the rest of our office- we are proud to work with her!”
Holly is “very humbled” and “appreciative” of this nomination.
Holly is currently completing her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition Studies at Purdue University and completing a 200-hr yoga certification and personal trainer certification.
She has a husband Ben and two children, Hanna and Joseph.

She does more than just her job on a daily basis. She goes out of her way to make you smile and feel valued. We are blessed as an organization to have someone who embodies our core values and beliefs so well.”

Nomination Selection Process
All team members employed for more than one year are eligible for nomination by fellow employees. Nominations are reviewed based on each nominee’s embodiment of Carthage Area Hospital’s five core values — professionalism, accountability, compassion, customer service and teamwork.
The hospital’s Rewards and Recognition Committee uses a process that emphasizes the values through an anonymous vote open to the entire staff. A narrative of each nomination that omits employee name, gender and department is published on an online portal open for a one-week voting period. The top three nominees are then selected for recognition as employees of the quarter.
“By focusing on how each nominee lives our values, the recognition is more meaningful and we hope no longer viewed as a popularity contest,” said Carly R. Draper, director of clinical nutrition and chairwoman of the hospital’s Rewards and Recognition Committee.
Each employee received a gift basket and a framed certificate.
