There’s no better time to ensure you keep your New Year’s Resolutions than by joining Carthage Area Hospital’s “Weigh of Life” course – a 12-week weight management program to begin immediately following the start of the New Year on Monday, January 2, 2017. The course will be held each Monday from 5pm-6pm until March 20, 2017 and taught by a Registered Dietician. There’s a small fee of $5/class for a total of $60 for the entire program. That’s the cost of what you would pay for two medium-sized coffees from your local coffee shop.

What You Receive
Each session will include an interactive lesson, food diary review, weigh-in, and an opportunity to ask and receive feedback from a Registered Dietitian (RD). Participants will receive all the tools they need to make a long-term lifestyle change. During the 12 weeks, participants will learn the following:

- What are fad diets & why they don’t work
- Portion control & reading nutrition labels
- Overcoming obstacles
- The connection between food & mood
- Thinking positively
- Control your weight without being hungry
- Boosting physical activity
- Vegetarian proteins
- Eating healthy without breaking the bank
- Eating out sensibly
- Maintaining your motivation.
