Show dedicated to the late JoAnn Zando, longtime hospital employee
The Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary will host a dinner theater event featuring two one-act comedies at Belva’s Sahara Restaurant, Carthage, in September.
Guests will have two opportunities to catch the show. The first show is Sunday, Sept. 24, with lunch at 1 p.m. and the show at 2 p.m. The stage is set for the second show on Monday, Sept. 25, with dinner at 6 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m. Guests will be served a delicious harvest turkey meal at each performance and can buy tickets for a 50/50 raffle and gift baskets. Tickets are $25 per person for dinner/show.
Featured shows are: “A New Sunrise” by Herman Coble, produced through arrangements with Samuel French, Inc., and “I’m Herbert” by Robert Anderson, produced through arrangements with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

Event proceeds benefit the Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary in memory of JoAnn Zando. Ms. Zando was tragically killed in a car crash last February and was a decades-long employee of Carthage Area Hospital and its Foundation.
About the CAH Auxiliary
The Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary is comprised of men and women who volunteer to support the hospital and believe that it’s an integral part of their communities. Through their efforts, the auxiliary helps to purchase much-needed hospital equipment. Membership dues assist with purchasing equipment.
The auxiliary presents opportunities to interact with and meet new people, try out skills and uncover hidden talents to make valuable, personal contributions that help to improve the hospital. How much a member volunteers is up to the individual — a few hours a day, week, or month, special project or even belong as an inactive member.
The cost to join is minimal: $5 for regular membership; $4 senior citizen and $50 for life membership, male and female. The auxiliary also manages the hospital gift shop, which provides moderately priced merchandise for staff and patients.
