Virtual Event to Benefit the American Heart Association
The 6th Annual “Sing Your Heart Out” Karaoke Contest is back and going virtual once again on Thursday, April 22nd from 7pm-10pm. Sign up to sing or join in to support local talent with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.
Karaoke lovers are invited to join the fun and belt out a favorite tune for prizes. There will be awards for “Best Solo Performance” and “Most Entertaining”. If singing isn’t your forte, the public is invited to join in, sit back and enjoy a night of entertainment for a great cause.
Admission for singers and spectators requires a $10 or more donation by texting “NCHW” to 41444 and indicate “karaoke” in the note section. Next, they must send their RSVP to NorthCountryHeartWalk@heart.org with their name, email, phone number, and song choice – if applicable. A Zoom link will be emailed to attendees before the event. Singers are encouraged to sign up early. The total number of acts will be limited to 30. Song choices can be chosen via YouTube karaoke songs. Deadline for admission is April 20th.
Carthage Hospital’s Taylour Scanlin will host the event and a three-person panel of local “celebrity” judges will decide contest winners. Judges include North Country Heart Walk Executive Leadership Team Chair and Supervisor of Retail Marketing Loyalty at Kinney Drugs, Melissa Bianco; Jonathan Cole, President of Watertown Lyric Theater; and Alex Hazard, ABC50.
Last year, this event had 10 singers and 25 spectators, while generating almost $500 for the American Heart Association. The Best Solo Performance as determined by celebrity judges Alex Hazard from ABC50 and Olivia Grant from Olivia Grant Creative was Marella Byrne, who sang “Good Girl” by Carrie Underwood and Kaitlyn Lashomb, who sang “Last Name” by Carrie Underwood was deemed the Most Entertaining.
This event is sponsored by Tunes 92.5 WBLH Radio and WWTI ABC 50 & The North Country CW.
Carthage Area Hospital is a sponsor of the 2021 North Country Heart Walk and raises money throughout the entire year to support the cause.
