The Carthage Area Hospital Foundation hosted the 27th Annual Golf Tournament, “Carthage Savings & Loan Golf Classic” on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Carlowden Country Club. The Tournament had lots of energy from the golfers and was an outstanding day of long drives, concentrated puts, and some “hacks” along the way to completing 18 holes of golf. The Foundation’s measuring sticks of success where the increased golfing teams to 37, increased event sponsorships to 24, and increased volunteer support to execute a day on the greens. Although the week’s weather outlook was grim, Mother Nature was on her best behavior as it was sunny with a steady breeze to keep things moving. The Foundation provided a “Healthy Snack” golfer’s bag (fruit, nuts, granola bars, low fat snack, drink) with other small gifts and a multipurpose embroidered blanket for each participant.
The Carthage Savings Golf Classic was a huge success because of a lot of generous support with major community invested businesses such as: Carthage Savings & Loan, Kinney Drugs, Fust Charles Chambers, BPAS Actuarial & Pension Services, Community Bank, CREG Systems, Fuller Insurance LUNCO Corporation, Northern Radiology Associates, Pentagram Retirement Services, Syracuse Media Group, Team Anne Rohr, Carthage Elks Lodge, Bousquet Holstein, Key Bank, Barrett Paving, First Niagara Bank, IMEC, J&B Equipment & Auto Sales, MLMIC, MR GAEBELL, RBC Wealth Management, Car Freshner, and Cooley. Although no golfer walked away with a Hole-in-One, we appreciate our Contest Sponsors; Caskinette’s Ford Dealership who provided a 2016 Ford Fiesta and Gamble Distributers who provided a 2016 Riding Mower system. . . there’s a whole year to practice!

All efforts from the Carthage Savings Golf Classic through Special Hole Contest donations, participation, and our generous sponsors help ensure that Carthage Area Hospital will continue to provide excellent healthcare in our community. The proceeds are earmarked for the purchase of a new GE Bone Density Machine for our Radiology / Imaging Department. This will be a new service line and needed capability for the Carthage Community.
