Carthage Area Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care. The Carthage Area Hospital Foundation is pleased to introduce its new Executive Director, Brian Serota. Mr. Serota will be responsible for promoting charitable gifts, ensuring excellence in community healthcare, and will work with Hospital Administration to achieve overall success for the Foundation and Carthage Area Hospital. For those without health insurance, there will be an opportunity to enroll at Carthage Area Hospita until mid-Februaryl. United Healthcare will be at the hospital on Tuesdays from 9am-1pm and Fidelis will be set up on Thursdays from 9am-1pm. Enrollment is open to the public.
On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, Gail Hutt of Housekeeping was awarded Carthage Area Hospital’s Employee of the Year for 2014. Mrs. Hutt has been with the hospital for 7 years.
Hutt’s Manager, Chris Hadley said, “She’s an exemplary employee. She is conscientious of her work and goes above and beyond for patients and visitors”.
Mrs. Hutt was surprised when she was informed of the news. “I didn’t expect it. I’m still shocked over the whole thing. But it’s a really good feeling and I appreciate it. Carthage Area Hospital is a good place to work and I like working here,” said Hutt.
Mrs. Hutt & her spouse, Steve, have two daughters, Sherry & Robin. In Mrs. Hutt’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 5 grandchildren.
